IMPORTANT WEATHER INFORMATION
The City of Glenn Heights began preparing, days ago, for the harsh weather approaching. Below is a high overview of what we're doing:
- Warming Station at Harvest Family Life Ministries, staffed by Volunteers and CERT Team members (cots and blankets provided by GHFD)
- Fire Department is doubling on-duty staffing and placing Booster 301 in service for additional medical call support
- Public Works Staffing will maintain a minimum of six on staff for 24 hours for the next 3 days – with 6 on standby for alternating
- Standby ready for operations - 2 Blades for snow/slush removal, 1 Sander – road sanding operations, 1 Track Loader – possible snow removal and other operational needs
- Police Dept has doubled on-duty staffing to provide escort to public works during inclement weather as well as being able to respond to increased weather-related incidents
- Vehicular accident victims that are not transported for medical attention and lack the ability to self-transport will be transported to the warming station
- Community Engagement has delivered meals to seniors today for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and will also check in with seniors via phone mid-morning and afternoons on Thursday and Friday.
- Most Admin Staff will continue to work from home Thursday and Friday, with offices closed. As of now, this weather event is expected to last from today, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 5pm – Friday, February 4, 2022, at 6pm.
