Introducing S.P.A.R.K.!

Mayor Brown's Ambassador Program

Do you know a young Glenn Heights resident or a Glenn Heights scholar attending DeSoto ISD or Red Oak ISD who is ready to step into the shoes of a leader and make a difference in our community? My S.P.A.R.K. Ambassador Program offers students the opportunity to experience the excitement and responsibility of civic leadership while gaining valuable insight into the workings of local government.

This inclusive program is open to youth who reside in Glenn Heights, TX, (attending any school) and scholars attending DeSoto ISD, and Red Oak ISD. It is designed to inspire the next generation of leaders by providing a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the life of an elected official.

Through this program, I hope to SPARK a passion for civic engagement, community service, and perhaps even inspire a future mayor, council member, attorney, educator, or public servant. The future of Glenn Heights is bright, and I believe our young people are the key to leading it forward.

Click here to apply today and take the first step toward building a brighter future for yourself and your city!

What to Expect

S.P.A.R.K. Ambassadors will join me at the second City Council meeting of each month. This exciting journey includes:

  • A Personal Dinner with the Mayor: Before the designated meeting, the selected ambassador and I will enjoy dinner and discuss their goals, dreams, and aspirations. This is the ambassadors opportunity to ask questions about leadership, government, and public service.
  • Leading the Pledge of Allegiance: After dinner, the ambassador will assist me in opening the City Council meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance - a meaningful and symbolic moment as they represent the youth of Glenn Heights.
  • Recognition and Appreciation: Ambassadors will receive a personalized certificate and a small token of appreciation to commemorate their contribution to our community.

Why Join?

This program is more than just an opportunity - it’s a stepping stone for our youth to become impactful leaders in our community and beyond. By participating, ambassador will:

  • gain a firsthand understanding of how city government operates.
  • develop leadership skills and confidence in public speaking.
  • build connections with city leaders and peers who share your passion for making a difference.
  • experience the pride of representing the youth of Glenn Heights.
